These minus worlds are really programming glitches accidentally left in by the developers and creator Shigeru Miyamoto. The above is what happens in the American/European version, but guess what, there’s level -1, -2 & -3 in the Japanese Famicom Disk System’s version! (its an add-on for the Japanese NES where many cartridge games got re-released on disk) Check out the madness: That’s level -1, but did you know Japan got level -1, -2 & -3? Here’s a movie showing Negative or Minus World: Jump down the first pipe to get to level -1. This in-game glitch enables you to travel to minus world, a hidden level in Super Mario Brothers that the game developers didnt intend for you to find. You should go through the wall and pipe into a warp zone. Now duck and jump backward toward the brick (don’t break it!). released on for the Famicom Disk System add-on for the Famicom had a different reaction to the min. ![]() Here’s how to get there: At the pipe that leads to the flag, break two blocks so there’s one at the end touching the pipe. I recently found out that the version of Super Mario Bros. Another secret you might’ve heard of (which is covered in the review briefly) is the hidden world at the end of level 1-2 in Super Mario Bros. ![]()
